Journey To Overcoming Effects Sexualized Torture
My Journey to Overcoming Effects of Sexualised Torture features Aimé Moninga's powerful presentation to the 49th Session of the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture on 3rd April 2019.
Formerly a victim of sexual violence and torture in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Aimé is now a fierce activist on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence Against Men and heads a ground-breaking support group called Men of Hope Refugee Association Uganda that numbers more than 160 members in Kampala.
His presentation touches on many of the most critical issues facing male survivors and their families, and demonstrates what it means to move from feeling totally disempowered to being a voice for the voiceless, able to ‘break the silence’.
